V3 in 2026 added multi-model support (use any LLM provider), improved plan-and-execute workflow, checkpointing (save and restore states), diff-based editing for large files, and MCP (Model Context Protocol) tool integration. Cline asks for approval before each action, giving you control while handling the tedious work. It excels at implementing features, fixing bugs, setting up boilerplate, and refactoring across multiple files.
